edTPA
While earning my Master's in education, I have heard about the certification process known as edTPA. This process is typically completed during the student teaching experience in NYS. edTPA is an assessment tool used by NYS to evaluate the teaching of teacher candidates. Passing edTPA is a requirement to gain certification in NYS. However, during this course, I was able to experience and familiarize myself with this process; how it works, the requirements and what to expect. Using my fieldwork experiences, I created lesson plans and delivered two which allowed me to implement the edTPA guidelines.
